Welcome to The Home Gym Equipment
Some time ago when I was 30 I started getting sick. I was always tired having headaches and having to take medication all the time. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with hypertension. It did not come as a surprise because I was overweight (with a height of about 1.73m I weighed almost 100kg) I was also stressed at my business there was a theft that had taken place and a significant amount of money was stolen so that situation was taking its toll on me. I also used to drink alcohol, a bit more than I was supposed to. It all added up with the end result being a high blood pressure.
The doctor immediately detained me at his practice and put me on medication to reduce the blood pressure. He had a long talk with me about the effects of my unhealthy life style and gave me two options. If I was to manage to reduce my blood pressure I either had to take blood pressure tablets for the rest of my life or I could change my life style and lead a more healthy living with exercise and good diet whilst maintaining a healthy weight.
He discharged me when the pressure had gone down. Back home with a bag of medication which I could continue to take for the rest of my life I thought hard and long and decided I was not going to take medication for life, definitely not. I chose the second option. To lead a healthy lifestyle with exercise, a good diet and maintain a healthy weight. From that day I have never looked back. I dumped the medication within a week and I have not taken anything for blood pressure since then. Now my blood pressure is controlled. I exercise regularly, 3-4 times a week and I eat healthy.
Regular exercise is a good way to keep some diseases at bay, especially high blood pressure. From my life experiences I advise every person I come into contact with to exercise regularly, eat healthy, a balanced diet with lots of fibre, lots of fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water and just to make it your lifestyle to practice this. Exercise can take many forms. It can be brisk walking, jogging, resistance training, cycling etc. Whichever form of exercise you choose, aim make it a lifetime habit.
