Normal Barbells vs T- Grips
Barbells evolved from the shape of the dumbbell. In the early days barbells had fixed weights such that you had to use a different barbell if you wanted something heavier.
Things have changed now you can easily increase or decrease the weight on a barbell using the weight plates.
The barbell is an essential piece of gym equipment for strength training workouts. It consists of the bar made out of a metal round solid bar and you attach weight plates on each end for exercising.
The T-Grip barbell is a specialized and modified barbell looking slightly different to the normal barbell. This different design has several advantages over the normal barbell.
It works well especially in the home gym setup where you do not have a lot of space for the normal Olympic size bar which is as long as 7 feet/2.133m. The T-Grip bar is shorter at about 50inches/1.27m
The normal Olympic bar is too long to use in a normal home setup. The Olympic bar can weigh as much as 44Lbs/20Kgs without the weight plates. Beginners may not even need the weight plates, they can just use the bar only.
In this review I’m going to focus on the lite version of the T-Grip barbell which can be used by beginners in their home gym.

Workouts with the T-Grip Lite Bar
The T-Grip Lite Bar is a versatile and multi-functional piece of equipment. There are a lot of exercises you can do with the T-Grip Lite Bar which can include the following:

You can also include the T-Grip exercises in a circuit workout where you combine it with other equipment using one after the other with short rests in between.

The Verdict
After weighing the pros and cons I think it’s only fair to say the verdict is out in favor of the T-Grip Club Strength Lite Bar, especially for beginners.
It is good value for money especially if you buy Set 2 at American Barbell that comes with the straight bar. It is a good investment for your workouts as you can get the strength training and HIIT cardio workouts all in one set of equipment.
The straight bar will also be useful for some exercises where it is needed. It may not be as long as the Olympic bar but you use it for some exercises.
You can still do all your workouts as you used to at the gym that you miss so much. Better be safe and workout in the comfort of your home than risk catching Covid-19 at the gym.
You can buy the extra weight plates as and when you need them when you get stronger and want to surpass the 35Lbs weight.
You get to lose all the excess pounds, gain muscular growth and strength and get to enjoy the multiple benefits of HIIT cardio and circuit training. What more can a beginner ask for in a workout.
The prices of the sets will not bust your pocket and will leave you with some cash for other Home Gym accessories you may need for your workouts.
